I have not studied animal anatomy very much, even when I draw so many animal characters. A lot of the original drawing I really just... don't understand what I was thinking in the first place. It's a gross arbitrary color, for sure. But I kept the color, thinking maybe I could rescue some sort of pokemon flare it kind of has. The pose is pretty impossible, so I had to redraw that to the max. But um, yeah... interesting to see how my approach to drawing an animal character concept has changed.

I've been pretty busy lately, haven't finished anything for a while, so here's something I finished at the beginning of the month. I was recently inspired by the cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carrol. I wanted to portray a cheshire cat that truly looks otherworldly. The hairless sphynx are known for having an "alien sort" of look. Been wanting to shine this off for a while now. :P The new issue of EMG-Zine is out! All selkie themed art and stuffs. good times, yes? This art is based on the legend of the Selkie. She's taking some unlucky person down to her... secret lair or where ever selkies go. I know the character design for her isn't really true to the myth. In the myth, they wear the skin of a seal, but I ended up designing her as a human-ish character with seal-like qualities. Prints at DA I guess.

I think my favorite thing is androids, yet I don't draw them much (I write about them ALOT tho). So I'm going to draw more robots and androids and other mechanical-human-shaped things this year. So here's a violin android singing. I kind of want to make it into a character for a story/comic/whatever, hence the full name. This is my entry for the Music contest in the traditional-artists club on Deviantart. Kind of random but I've ALWAYS wanted to use "Stradivarius" in a title and have it be actually related to the art.

Started this a while back, before I left for Germany, and have been pushing it around between other projects ever since. My cross-dresser guy character, Aarin. He's usually pretty chipper, but listening to "Knives Out" by Radiohead made me think of his dark side. Sally is a girl that did him a lot of favors he didn't have the chance to return. Drawn in photoshop from scratch... I usually have a sketch on paper before I do something digital.

For the Day of the Dead contest at DeviantArt. (Third place, yay!) Vectorness, Drawn in Flash. Something I don't do often, but really need to practice. ^^; Day of the Dead celebrates loved ones that are gone. <3 Catrina is kind of a mythical character created by Jose Posada. I've loved the image of Catrina ever since I did a thesis on Posada. She's supposed to be a metaphor for death being absolute no matter your riches, but she's just such a lively image of... well, death!

Private commission for Benjamin Herrin. He wanted an anthropomorphic character doing Tai Chi. I chose an okapi. Done! :) It was a fun pose to work with. Pen, prismacolor marker and some white acrylic for touch up.

This started as a doodle at the same time as Twin Worlds Space Dragon, and the lineart for both I submitted to a coloring book... still don't know if they're in. ^^; I colored this about a month back, but didn't post it because I wanted to pimp EMG Zine at the same time. :P This is up in the gallery there, along with lots of other cool art, and awesome articles. So yup, go check that out. Pen and marker. Colors inspired by the White Lined Sphinx Moth (which I totally didn't capture, those moths are so effing pretty).
